About us

The European Pharmaceutical Law Association (EPLA) is an association of professionals with a mission to contribute to a better understanding and development of pharmaceutical law, including international harmonisation and its particular role in the field of consumer protection and safeguarding of public health.

Established in Brussels in March 2024, EPLA provides a network of experts in pharmaceutical law and policy, and their related areas of law, including medical device law and offers educational opportunities on legal questions raised by the developing nature of the pharmaceutical industry.

As part of its mission, EPLA organises dedicated workshops and conferences to promote the objectives of the association and to address critical legal issues in the pharmaceutical law and life sciences sector, bringing together scientific and academic experts, regulatory and public health authorities and legal practice professionals. EPLA also develops position statements to address legal principles and points of law.

The EPLA Board of Directors is composed of individual members elected by the General Assembly for a period of two years. The EPLA Board currently includes:

  • Christian Tillmans, President
  • Andreas Natterer, Vice-President
  • Florence Verhoestraete, Treasurer
  • Wendy Lloyd-Goodwin
